Beware ! This is a post only about one of my favorite writer, Jane Austen :)

I can't wait to see the new fiction drama about Jane Austen, called Miss Austen Regrets. I hope I will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Becoming Jane. I know it's not based on biographical facts but I don't care. I'll like it if it captures the Jane Austen' s spirit, wit and charm :)
BBC doesn't give a lof of informations about this new television film. It must have been broadcast during the Christmas holiday but finally, it won't be ...

Olivia Williams, Greta Scacchi, Hugh Bonneville, Phyllida Law and Adrian Edmondson star in Gwyneth Hughes's Miss Austen Regrets. Based on the life and letters of Jane Austen, it tells the story of the novelist's final years examining why, despite setting the standard for romantic fiction, she died having never married or met her own Mr Darcy.
As she approaches her 40th birthday Jane appears happily unmarried, displaying all the assured wit and charm of her novels' young heroines. Yet, when asked by her young niece, Fanny, to help her vet potential husbands, Jane's confident composure is threatened as she finds herself looking back on her own potential suitors and the choices she has made.
A chance meeting with a former acquaintance, Rev Brook Bridges, sees her reflect on a marriage that never was, while, when her family faces financial ruin, it is revealed that it all could have been very different had she only accepted a marriage proposal from a wealthy landowner. And when her brother, Henry, is taken ill Jane's passions are ignited by his handsome young physician.
The cast also features Imogen Poots and Jack Huston.

In other news, I'm also interested in Lost in Austen, a ITV modern fiction dealing with the Jane Austen's world
Lost in Austen, made by Mammoth Screen, hopes to capitalise on the appeal of the Jane Austen adaptations lined up for spring on ITV. The light-hearted drama follows an Austen fan as she magically switches places with Pride and Prejudice character Elizabeth Bennett, and has to survive in late 18th century England.
I hope the script will be good and entertaining

Hello my LJ friends !

I'm back in LJ land!
I'm really sorry for letting down my livejournal for such a long time but I kind of lost interest in it.
So, I'm back with a brand new layout (I spent a lot of time doing it so I hope you will like it). It features the Jane Austen heroines (Elizabeth, Anne, Emma, Elinor, Marianne, Fanny, Catherine). Some of them have been played by various actresses :)

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I spent it with my family and I can say that I ate way too much^^ I've been quite spoiled too. I received some money, some dvds (The Indiana Jones trilogy, Becoming Jane, Sarter for ten with the loveable James McAvoy, House of Mirth - a period drama with Gillian Anderson), a stuffed Panda, some novels, clothes, and the last Feist album :D

I'll try my best to catch up with your last entries. I will post more, I promise ! I have to make a post about the movies I saw recently !

I put a new layout in my LJ.
I really loved my Rory layout (actually, I think it was my favorite^^) but I wanted to make some change. I always loved this picture of Natalie so I thought it would make a perfect header :)

So, here are some pics I took during my last trip in London (in July), finally. I'm sorry for beeing so late in posting them ^^

These have all been taken in Charles Dicken's house in Russel Square. A beautiful and very charming place, where the spirit, the drama, the emotion of Dickens is still there ...
Dickens is definitely one of my favorite authors so I was glad to be able to visit one of his houses (it's not his last home, he moved out in a bigger one some years after since he earned a lot of money, had a lot of public success and was one of the most acclaimed authors.)
He wrote some of his most powerful novels in this little house though, including the famous Oliver Twist !

The typical english house, I love the tiling^^ Upstairs, we can go to the bedrooms and to some other little places
Deep down, you can see the giftshop and to the left, some living-rooms and sitting rooms

         Here, you can see 2 portrats, one of him younger and one of his wife, Catherine Hogarth

I read that it was one of his favorite chairs, probably confortable enough to write masterpieces ;)

Certainly one of the most emtional places in the entire house : his sister-in-law's room.
Mary Hogarth died in this room at the age of 19.
Dickens was highly attached to Mary . He was said to have been holding her when she died (of illness)...

The outfit you can see in the closet is the one he wore when he was received by Queen Victoria.

I have a new paid account ... finally ! And I also uploaded some new usericons. I still have a lot icons to add but it will be quite easy^^ I'm a icon addict and also an icon maker now !

Like I told you in my last entry I have to post pics of my last London trip. I'll definitly post them within 1 or 2 days. I took some of Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, the HP event at Waterstone etc. But my favorites must be the Charles Dicken's house ones :D I hope you'll like them as much as I do :)

In other news, I've been in the cinema a lot lately. The last film I saw is Waitress, with Keri Russel. I loved it. I heard some pretty bad critics here, in France. Some told it was definitely too sentimental and too sweet. My opinion is quite the opposite. I think it's a very endearing movie. Keri Russell is a very lovely actress and I loved her character. She delivered a very bright and smooth performance. It's the first time I see her on screen in a important role and I'm completely fond of her now : ) Maybe I must see Felicity ^^
In fact, I completely agree with universeandu's review :) I know a lot of people will or already think this movie is cheesy but I think the director / writer handled the essential cliches pretty well.

I can't wait to see the new movie starring Romain Duris too ! It'll come out this wednesday and it's called "L'Age d'homme... maintenant ou jamais ! ". In this movie, he is Samuel, a man in his 30's who is really in love with his girlfriend but has difficulties commiting himself in this relationship. It's the kind of enjoyable sentimental comedy I love ! You can see the trailer here

So, I'm back. I think I've been a terrible LJ friend lately. I'm so sorry... :(
I guess I've lost some interest in my livejournal these past few weeks... I still don't know if I will keep up my paid account. If I cancel it, I'm pretty sure I'll regret it...

I have a lot to say, and I absolutly don't know where to begin :)

My trip in London was great, I saw and visit a lot of places (my favorites must be The National gallery and The National Portrait Galery, along with the Charles Dickens' house in Russell Square, very charming and moving...).
I took a lot of pics, I'll try to post them before the end of the week...
I bought some dvds (mainly english costum dramas) and books we can't find in France. Sales in London were quite interesting too.
The Harry Potter event was very cool too. The waiting line was huge, I could not believe it. There were a lot of people (some were dressed up: we found some leading characters but also some less important ones, such as Rita Skeeter : ) ). It was freezing this night, but we had to stay until the end, it was a real magical event.
I bought an adult copy of DH, I think the cover was a lot prettier than the children one :)
I loved it (even if I must admit that it will not remain as my favorite of the 7) but I enjoyed each word of it.
I don't think I will post my review, all have already been said about it. Too bad I took so much time to post in my livejournal^^

I've read a lot lately. I finished Book Lover by Jennifer Kaufman & Karen Mack and I totally fell in love with the story. It can be seen as a chick-lit book but it's also really more than that. It's very funny sometimes but also touching and dramatic. The main character is very interesting too. And her thoughts and discussions about books are priceless too. I warmly recommand this to you if you like books about books or just a good & enjoyable reading!
I've also just begun Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I've read only about 50 pages for the moment but I love it. I hope I'll still enjoy it and that I'll expect to read the next 2 after I finished this one :)

I've also saw Gilmore Girls season 5 and 6. I can't believe I watched these 44 episodes already^^
I think the first 3 seasons will stay my favorites but I enjoyed the seasons 4, 5 and 6 too.
I'm not too fond of Rory/Logan though but it's not a suprise (even if I kind liked Logan). I didn't really enjoyed the "new Rory storyline either. I could'nt believe how much she has been unfair with her mother. Lorelai's crying because of the situation make me very sad. It was so not her fault... "The Return of the Prodigal daughter" must be one of my favorite episodes ever. The Lorelai & Rory's reunion scene broke my heart^^
And I love the fact Rory become aware of how bad her situation is thanks to Jess^^
I don't really like the April's storyline (but I think April is lovely and that's totally paradoxical LOL)
Other GG thoughts coming very soon :)

In other news, I can't wait to see Joe Wright's Atonement. The movie seems to be very pretty. You can see all new promo pics here *insert some James McAvoy love here too*
If you haven't read the novel yet, all I have to tell you is that it's a real masterpiece and that you definitely should read it :)

1 day intil the release of OOTP movie in France! I'll see it in Paris with a friend. OOTP is my favorite HP book (along with POA) so I can't wait to see it. I'll try to post my review of the film tomorrow evening or thursday.
I've read some critics, some of them are pretty good actually. They usually talk about the amazing performances of Gary Oldman as Sirius (I'm a fan!) and Imelda Staunton as Umbridge. And they also say that Daniel's actor skills have improved. I liked his performance in GOF so I trust them!

In other news, I bought my Eurostar tickets last week and booked the hotel room too. We'll leave Paris on wednesday the 18th at 8 am (we'll arrive in London a little before 10 am). I'm so excited about this trip. In Paris, the weather is quite cold, and it rains sometimes. I really hope that next week will be better. We try to not have high expectations about London's weather but we will be so disappointed if we can't go out and take a walk because of the rain. We can go to a musical, visit some museums, go shopping but it won't be really exciting if we'll have to wait HP7 in the rain at midnight ^^...

New icon! Kate Winslet in the new Lancôme commercial (for the perfume called "Trésor") ;o)

It's been a very long time since my last post so I've a lot of things to write about!

First of all, I'm going to London this summer with my best friend. We hesitated for a while but finally, we decided that we definitely can't miss such a big event (I mean the release of the last Harry Potter book). We have to be in London and enjoy this time! We both are very fond of JK Rowling's work. Actually, I told my friend to read the books and since this moment, she loves them as least as much as I do!
Plus, I didn't know JK Rowling will be there to for the big moment intil lydzi_de_galles told me!
This is such a big and good surprise, she always has been in Edimbourgh for the releases of her books!
We'll probaby stay about or days in London. We already have a kind of program (since the last time I visited London, in april 2006, I din't manage to see a lot lof things even if it was a quite enjoyable trip): the Shakespeare's Globe theatrer, Abbey Road, The National Portrait Gallery, Mme Tussaud's, and we also need to see a musical (even if we don't know what to see exactly^^).
We'll also do some shopping (in Top Shop, Selfbridges (I adore this one), HMV, Borders etc.) but only a bit! We have to save our money for the 7th book LOL

In other news, it's currently freezing. I can't believe july is tomorrow! I can't leave my jacket when I'm outside! I'm so tired of this...

I saw Ocean 13 and Shrek 3 and enjoyed both. They're not as good as they used to be but they still are good entertaining movies! I've been a lot more disappointed by the last Pirates of the Carribean!!
In the next weeks, I'm going to see Persepolis (a french animation movie adapted from a comic strip, the story of a young and rebel girl in Iran. It seems AMAZING!), HP5 (God, I can't wait!!) and Half Nelson (I already love this movie but now, I have to see it on the big screen, Ryan Gosling delivers an outsanding performance in it).
The new Julie Delpy's movie called 2 days in Paris seems really funny. The storyline is GREAT and she wrote it! You can see the trailer here.

Hello everybody!!

Shame on me. I kind of lost interest in my LJ these past few weeks. I didn't post and I feel sorry ^^
I'll try to post more often now!

I had the flu for almost 10 days and still felt terribly weak some days after. So, I wasn't really able to enjoy the beautiful weather we have in Paris at this moment :( Now, I feel better :)

In other news, I officially became a godmother. My goddaugher is my cousin's daughter (Valentine, who has 7 months). I'm very happy, it's the first time for me :)

I also wanted to thank

lepapillon for the beautiful bookmark she sent me. I'm currently using it. It's in "Read Lolita in Teheran" by Azar Nafisi (that I recommand to all people who love to read). I also would like to thank shannigansx for the Buffy comics she sent me. I love them!

I feel sorry for not commenting in my friends' LJ. I'll try to make up for lost time :) I swear!

I'm currently organize a "favorite actors and actress" poll in discussion forum (it's a forum in french about english litterature in particular and a lot of other things in general). I'll post the results in my lj too :-) I must admit that the results are quite surprising at this time^^

Oh, and last but not least, I'm curently fond of this music video. It's called "DANCE" by the french band JUSTICE.
They sing in english and their music is very funky/electronic, this video is very unique and "avant-gardiste".
It's very popular in France & Europe

I saw "Pirates of the Carribean 3" and I think I disliked it a lot. The storyline was all absurd and the movie too long.
I enjoyed the first 2 movies but I'm very disappointed by this one!
I also saw the french musical movie which was introduced in Cannes festival : "Les chansons d'amour" ("Love songs"), with Louis Garrel, Ludivine Sagnier etc. I loved it! I'm not usually a fan of musical movies but I enjoyed this one a lot. The songs are all beautiful (the melody but also the lyrics!)

So, I've just read the news : Veronica Mars has been canceled. I guess it's pretty bad since the show have only three seasons but I have to admit that I don't really care. I was very fond of VM during its first season but left it during the 2nd one. I tried to love it again but I didn't succeed. GG's cancelation makes me way more disappointed and sad.

In other news, Fox has picked up Amy Sherman Palladino's new show for midseason. It's going to air in january.
The show's story seems very interesting! I'll definitely give it a try. I love Amy's writing.

I'm currently reading Possession by AS Byatt. I love it but it seems quite difficult. The story and the writing are both indeniably great but it seems to me that teh author tells us a bit too much about his characters' knowledge and litterature. The novel is very rich but also full of too much poems, fairytales extracts, litterature essays (that I usually really love). I hope I'll be able to bear the thought of another 300 pages of this. I can't not finish a book, so I hate this!
Plus, I have to see the movie adaptation with Aaron Eckhart, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeremy Northam and Jennifer Ehle and I'll see it only once I finished the novel...

Yesterday was the opening of The Cannes' festival. I watched the opening ceremony and "la montée des marches".
I can't wait to see some of this year's competition movie, especially My Blueberry Nights by Wong Kar-Wai with Norah Jones, Jude Law and 2 of my favorite actress : Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz.
David Fincher's Zodiac seems to be an amazing thriller too.

So tonight, I'm going to watch "La Nouvelle Star" (French Idol), while eating some ice cream and/or milk chocolate

Hi!

My last HP layout didn't satisfied me so I decided to have a more simple one :) I really loved this scene :)

-I'll go to the Justin Timberlake concert in exactly 10 days, the 23rd, which is my birthday too. I think we'll have a great time. We already plan to go dinner next to Bercy in a great little restaurant. Since we have sitting tickets, we'll not have to wait ages in the waiting line. Natasha Bedingfield has been chosen to open his european tour. I don't really know her music, I hope it's not that bad^^
And "Pirates of the Carribean 3" will be out the same day!

- I'm currently listening to the new Feist's album (called "Reminder") which is awesome. She has an amazing voice, the album contains some great & appealing music & lyrics. You have to heard it

- I just read a book called "A long way down" by the english writer Nick Hornby. I think I liked it. It's very funny and easy to read. It's a mix of melancholia, depression (it 's the story of 4 people who wanted to commit suicide), but also humor and irony. The narrative is neat, as always in Hornby's novels. The book is kind of weird because there is not real plot, the characters talk and express their feelings and this is the most interesting. I doubt that it will become my favorite Honby's novel though. I enjoyed "High Fidelity" a lot better :)
